About Us Chester House is a detached building privately owned in a residential area, situated on a main road within walking distance from shops, train station and the main village of Hazel Grove. The home is registered for 14 beds and specialises in care provisions for persons not less than fifty years with mental health needs. Staff acknowledge that each Resident is a unique individual with differing physical, emotional and spiritual requirements. All Residents have the right to considerate, honest and respectful care. Our mission is to promote an environment and atmosphere as homely as possible. It is important that residents feel that Chester House is their home. Residents, their families, social workers and other professionals are encouraged to participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. We aim to offer an environment and quality of care that enables residents to enhance their quality of life and stimulate them to maximise their physical, psychosocial and spiritual well being. 	Professional Care
Staff in the care home acknowledges that each Resident is a unique individual with differing physical, psychosocial and spiritual requirements. All Residents have the right to considerate, honest and respectful care. Every resident is treated with respect, dignity, empathy and sensitivity to their individual preferences and choices without prejudice. The independence of every resident is encouraged and his/her autonomy promoted. A key worker is assigned to each resident. Assessment of needs, care planning, implementation of care interventions and evaluations of outcomes are carried out in partnership and collaboration with the resident, their relatives and other health care professionals. The care interventions are personalised to best meet the needs and preferences of the resident. There is a quality monitoring system in operation and we strive continually to enhance the standard of our care.

To encourage friends and relatives to visit the home and participate in the assessment, care planning and evaluation. To allow a continuing programme of staff training for our care team so that they can provide the highest standards and quality of care. To monitor quality of care on an on-going basis.

	Services
We provide three meals a day and a light supper. Meals are home cooked on the premises. Special diets are catered for. We offer choices and flexibility. We encourage residents to develop and lead an active life. Outings to places of interest, and social events within the local community are arranged in accordance with residents' preferences. We organise indoor and outdoor recreational activities. An entertainer comes regularly to the home. Resident's spiritual needs are also catered for. Ministers of all denominations will come to the care home as required.

	Care Staff
The owners of the home are both qualified nurses with many years of nursing experience in care of elderly persons and mental health. There is 24 hour qualified staff cover to ensure that assistance is available at all times. The duty of all members of staff is to provide holistic and person-centred care to meet the physical, psychological, spiritual and social needs of all residents.

	General Amenities
There is a television, video, DVD and music system in the lounge and a television is also provided in individual rooms. All rooms have an emergency call system and functional smoke detection. A fire alarm system is also installed.

	Fees
Fees are the same as Stockport Social services rate (with top-up fees dependent on assessment). Fees are inclusive of all personal care, meals, beverages and laundry.
